tomato_greens: a vibrant pile of heirloom tomatoes (cornucopia)
I have to write more DW entries because I can too-easily see posts I wrote in 2010, a time and a place I do not care to revisit!

I'm still interested in doing something I wanted to do for Check, Please! but never quite had the guts to go through with – writing real fic reviews. Engaging in a text in an analytical fashion is how I actually know what I think and feel about the text, but this kind of real engagement is no longer de rigueur in fandom spaces, at least as far as I can tell. But reading is often hard for me and – at least as of right now – this kind of ongoing critical engagement is the only way I can reliably respond to texts.

That said, I don't want to breach fandom etiquette...but then again, DW provides the kind of filtering tumblr simply cannot. Maybe that's how I'll try to get back into using DW after so many years away from this style of blog.

P.S. After fifteen years, I also changed the style of this blog. (Very brave.)

what’s up, here I am, in case you too are like, Jesus Christ, the tumblr era really is inevitably crumbling, huh. the current aesthetic choices of this journal are vintage LJ imports from my late teens so enjoy them!! unless I get sick of them.

Back here again, eh?

Although I have been a dedicated lowercase typer for informal blogging for years, coming back to this screen has immediately reverted all of my instincts to a former life, before I allowed myself to be a poet and before I understood the ways social hierarchies are tacitly supported by hard and fast linguistic rules, where I cared deeply and passionately about every pedantic grammar rule in the universe.

Anyway. Love you all! I'll surely be around, though I'm keeping my tumblr for now too; I can't decide if it's a politically useful choice to give it up or not. Last time I had to migrate from one social media to another, I was writing my senior thesis in college (!!!) and essentially gave up social media for six months––I left LJ a vibrant community and came back to tumbleweeds. This time, at least, I know what's happening.

Meanwhile, I am really enjoying exploring this relic of a journal. I'll get around to changing it all in a bit, but this is such a portrait from, god, probably no later than 2010.

Hey there. This journal is completely private, at least for the time being, but feel free to comment here if you have any concerns or questions! :)
